Last updated: 8 October 2026
1. Who we are
MSC Method® is operated by Neil Sunley, based in East Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
Our services include the MSC Method website, practitioner training and the MSC Method: Performance mobile application.
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Information we handle
Website and training
When you contact us or express an interest in professional training, we may receive information such as your name, email address, professional background and enquiry details.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide information about requested services and administer training where applicable.
MSC Method: Performance app
The app allows you to create personalised performance plans and develop psychological skills through structured exercises.
Information you may enter includes:
Your name, if you choose to provide it
Performance situations and goals
Thoughts, concerns and perceived pressures
Exercise answers and reflections
Personal notes
The app also records completed practices, learning progress and progression milestones.
Please avoid entering unnecessary personal information about yourself or other people.
3. Personalised performance plans
MSC Method: Performance uses built-in performance psychology content and selection rules to create personalised exercises and plans based on the answers you provide.
In the inspected implementation, this process takes place on your device rather than sending your answers to an external AI provider.
The app provides educational psychological skills training. It is not intended to provide medical diagnosis, clinical treatment or emergency assistance.
4. Where your plans and progress are stored
Personalised plans, exercise responses, notes and Learn progression are stored locally on your device.
The app does not currently provide automatic synchronisation of these records between devices.
Your information will normally remain available when you update the app without deleting its stored data.
Deleting the app may remove locally stored records. Whether records can be recovered through a device backup depends on your device and backup configuration.
Restoring an Apple subscription restores eligible membership access, not necessarily your saved plans, notes or learning history.
5. Subscriptions and payments
MSC Method: Performance offers optional monthly and annual subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system.
Apple administers subscription purchases and payments.
The app receives subscription entitlement information so it can determine which features are available to you.
We do not receive your payment card or banking details through the app.
You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions through your Apple Account settings.
For further information about Apple's privacy practices, visit:
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
6. Website forms and communications
When you submit an enquiry through our website, we use the information to respond to you and administer any service you request.
Our website is hosted by Squarespace.
Information submitted through forms may be handled by Squarespace, our email provider and other service providers involved in delivering the relevant service.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not automatically enrol app users in separate marketing mailing lists.
Where marketing consent is required, we will obtain it and provide an opportunity to withdraw that consent.
7. Legal basis for processing
Where UK GDPR applies, we process personal information under an appropriate lawful basis.
These may include:
Contract or pre-contractual steps: To respond to service requests and provide requested services.
Legitimate interests: To administer our activities, respond to correspondence and maintain service security where those interests are not overridden by individuals' rights.
Consent: For processing where consent is required, such as certain marketing activities and non-essential cookies.
Legal obligations: Where information must be processed or retained to comply with applicable law.
Some information concerning psychological wellbeing may constitute special-category personal data. Where applicable, we must identify an additional legal condition before undertaking processing subject to UK GDPR.
8. Technical information and third-party services
The website and mobile application depend on external technology providers, including Squarespace, Apple and the software frameworks used to operate the app.
These providers may process technical information needed to deliver their services, maintain security or provide diagnostic functionality.
Where providers process personal information on our behalf, we seek appropriate data-protection arrangements.
Some organisations, including Apple, may act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.
9. Cookies and analytics
Our website may use essential cookies and similar technologies to function securely and correctly.
Additional analytics or optional technologies may be used where configured and legally permitted.
Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, appropriate choices will be provided.
More information may be available in our website's Cookie Policy.
10. International data transfers
Some third-party service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where international transfers of personal information occur, we will comply with applicable data-protection requirements and use appropriate safeguards where required.
You can contact us for further information about the arrangements relevant to your information.
11. Data retention
We retain website enquiries, training information and correspondence for as long as necessary for the relevant service, legitimate business purposes and applicable legal obligations.
Retention depends on the type of information and why it was provided.
Saved app plans and learning records remain in local device storage unless removed through available device or application mechanisms.
The current app does not provide automatic expiry of these records.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable legislation, you may have the right to:
Request access to personal information we hold
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of information
Request restriction of processing
Object to certain processing
Request data portability where applicable
Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
To exercise your rights, contact hello@mscmethod.com.

13. Younger users
MSC Method: Performance provides educational performance psychology exercises.
Some content may be relevant to younger people. The app is not designed to provide clinical treatment or emergency mental health support.
Users should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information or identifiable information about other people.
Questions regarding younger users' privacy can be directed to hello@mscmethod.com.
14. Other websites and services
Our website and app may link to external services, including My Soul Coach for additional professional support.

15. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse and loss.
No electronic storage or internet-connected service can be guaranteed completely secure.
